STOP MISSING OPEN GOALS...

When I first started playing FIFA 08, I must have missed dozens of open goals in the first few weeks of playing. I know tons of players that still do.

The problem is when you shoot and the keeper parries it, the ball can fall anywhere.

Being alert to the rebound is only part of the problem. If you do get to the ball first, you have to shoot first time or the opportunity is gone.

Quite often, this means shooting from an acute angle, or the ball may bounce up just in front of your player.
You may even have to chase after the ball and try to shoot first time with your back to goal.

All of these factors heap the pressure on you and often this golden opportunity is wasted as the ball ends up blazed high and wide.

Next time this happens to you, hold R1 (PS2 or PS3)/RB (Xbox 360) as you shoot to side foot the shot.

It is much more accurate and controlled and you will rarely miss another open goal, even from tight angles.

This is something you need to incorporate into your game so it comes naturally in these situations.
